We’ve almost made it to the end of 2019! Below is some interesting information that you might find useful as we push onward toward 2020.

Benefits Update — December 2019

The Human Resource Benefits Office has some updates for you as the calendar year comes to a close. Read on for more information on Paid Parental Leave, supplemental retirement limits and end-or-year-reminders.

2020 Form W-4

The IRS is releasing a new Form W-4, Employee’s Withholding Certificate, for 2020. The new form is vastly different from the current Form W-4 and will be available in Banner-Self Service after Jan. 1. While you are not required to complete this new Form W-4, it should be more accurate for individual withholdings. Please note: if you do not submit a new form, withholding will continue based on your previously submitted form. The 2020 Form W-4 news article provides additional details and links.

2019 Tax Season Reminders

Don’t forget to sign up for electronic delivery of your Form W-2 and make sure your address is current. For more information visit the Financial Services website.

Campus Safety Videos

The Department of Safety and Security, in collaboration with University Communications, created videos to help the campus community be prepared in the event a seek shelter, lockdown or evacuation NinerAlert is issued. Read more about the videos and watch them online.

Healing PTSD stamp now at Mail & Package

The Healing PTSD stamp is designed to raise awareness of Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) and to collect funds for Americans with PTSD, which affects nearly eight million people in the U.S.

Free wall calendars and holiday postcards available

While they last, holiday postcards are available from Mail & Package Services and Union Station. 2020 wall calendars are free at REPROS.

Spring 2020 permits now on sale

Parking permits and CATS all-access transit passes for spring 2020 are now available to purchase online through UNCCMyPark. For pricing and permit type information, please visit the Parking and Transportation Services (PaTS) website. Fall permits will expire on Dec. 31, 2019. Spring permits expire May 15, 2020, and annual permits will remain valid through Aug. 14, 2020.
