Christy Jackson joined UNC Charlotte as the first director of communications for the Division of Business Affairs in March 2016.
Reporting directly to the vice chancellor for business affairs, Jackson manages the communications of the division, supporting the goals of the 2016-2021 Business Affairs Strategic Plan. Additionally, she works with University Communications and other campus partners to integrate business affairs communication objectives with those of the University.
Previously, Jackson was the communications director at Sweet Briar College in Virginia, where she led the college’s crisis communication strategy during its closure announcement in March 2015.
Prior to her appointment at Sweet Briar, she was assistant director of university relations at Radford University, reporting directly to the president.
She began her career as the public relations coordinator for the Virginia-Maryland College of Veterinary Medicine at Virginia Tech, where she also served as the college’s interim director of the Office of Public Relations and Communications.
Jackson completed a bachelor’s degree in communication with a concentration in public relations and a master’s degree in corporate and professional communication, both from Radford.
