The N.C. Department of Transportation (NCDOT) will host a “Drone Workshop for Commercial and Government Operators” from 9:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., Thursday, July 27, in the Cone University Center. This event is free and open to the public, but registration is required.

Covered topics will include demonstrations of flight operations, commercial and government operations and data management. The workshop is the first in a series that NCDOT is hosting throughout the state to show the benefits of drone technology.

NDCOT representatives will be on campus from 8 a.m. to noon, Wednesday, July 12, to test the drones that will be used in training. The campus community is welcomed to observe the test flights that will take place at the Star Quad in front of the College of Health and Human Services.

During the workshop and testing, it is likely members of the University community will see drones flying over campus.
