Human Resources honors Student Employee of the Year

Student Employee of the Year Stacey Myers plans to put her work experience with Recreational Services to use as a graduate assistant this fall.

The Georgia native, who is scheduled to graduate in May, will oversee personal fitness at the University of Central Florida – with plans for a career in campus recreation.

Myers, a senior kinesiology major, has worked for UNC Charlotte’s Recreational Services since 2013. During her four years in the department, she has served as an intramural official, group fitness instructor, personal trainer, fitness program supervisor and a group fitness intern.

Nominated by her supervisor, Myers was honored for her “unyielding dedication” to the department, including her desire to make campus fitness activities accessible to all students regardless of physical abilities. Her humility also was listed as one of her best qualities.

The 2017 Student Employee of the Year luncheon and awards ceremony was held Wednesday, April 12, in Tate Hall at the Harris Alumni Center. The event was hosted by the Office of Human Resources and recognized exemplary student workers among the approximately 5,000 employed each academic year across all divisions at UNC Charlotte. Collectively, students represent the University’s largest employee population.
