The Office of Human Resources (HR) has launched a new SHRA performance management program, NinerTalent STAKES – Succeeding through Teamwork, Active Feedback, Knowledge Transfer, Engagement and Support.
The program was created to implement the UNC system’s new SHRA Performance Appraisal Policy by providing tools and resources to help both supervisors and employees set meaningful performance goals and promote ongoing, two-way communication regarding the goals.
The new policy for employees subject to the state human resources act (SHRA) will go into effect April 1, 2017, the beginning of the 2017-18 performance cycle. These changes will not affect the current performance appraisal process for the 2016-17 performance cycle, which is currently underway per the guidelines of the University Performance Management System policy.
The policy allows for better communication of performance expectations to employees and a more consistent performance rating process across the UNC system, according to Gary Stinnett, associate vice chancellor for human resources.
“We hope this program will foster an organizational environment that has a positive effect on the performance, development and retention of our employees,” Stinnett said.
All SHRA employees and their supervisors effected by this policy will receive email communication from HR with additional information and resources.
