Classes to resume as scheduled Oct. 12

The UNC Charlotte campus did not sustain any damage from Hurricane Matthew or the subsequent flooding many other counties in the state are experiencing. Classes will resume as scheduled on Wednesday, Oct. 12.

The University is mindful, however, of the approximately 3,000 students who live in affected areas and may have returned home for fall break. Eastern counties in North Carolina are facing severe flooding, with some rivers not expected to crest until Wednesday morning. Many roads are or will become impassable because of water or downed trees.

Students should exercise judgment regarding their safety when traveling to campus. If unable to attend classes, students should communicate directly with their professors.
